Being A Leader

Being a good leader is something that can not be easily obtained through one skill. In my opinion, being a leader is being someone who can lead and guide a team, a person who can motivate and inspire individuals to get them to where they need to be. A leader is someone who can make success out of nothing. A leader is someone you can look up to and be proud to follow, a person whose accomplishments are inspiring. In short, leadership is influence.

Modern leaders include Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, and Warren Buffet, whom without their vision, determination, and persistent hard work, wouldn’t be in the same possession they are right now. But what qualities do these amazing leaders possess?

First, a leader should be a visionary, a person who has more foresight than an employee. A visionary is someone who believes in their venture and is driven and inspired by what their venture can become. These people work hard for the greater good. The most important part of these visionary leaders are that they do not hold back from taking risks.

Second, a leader should be a strong communicator, a person who is not harsh when they choose words and expressions. They understand how important it is to have good communication skills with each other. They learn from what other people have to say, which gives them a deep understanding of actions that have to be taken. A good communicator does not allow harsh words to get to them, instead, they plow through.

Third, a leader should have the ability to empower their team. A good leader can empower their team to achieve maximum productivity and success. Empowerment allows each and every team member to have an equal opportunity to make decisions. Having this skill builds the sense of individuality and dedication to all team members in order to come up with a solution.

"As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others." - Bill Gates
