The California Fever
What is the Valley fever?
The famous disease called the Valley fever also known as coccidioidomycosis or “cocc
o” is most commonly present in areas of California and the southwestern United States. Valley fever is caused by the fungus that frowns in the soil and dirt. Both animals and people can get Valley fever once they breathe in dust that contains the fungus. Initially, the fungus will infect the lungs and later on can spread to other parts of the body. When the infection spreads to other parts of the body in severe cases it is called “disseminated coccidioidomycosis”. The valley fever only is temporary for some people, others will need antifungal medication. Like most diseases certain groups of people are at higher risk for becoming ill for a longer period of time. Valley fever is extremely hard to prevent because it is mainly from breathing in particles in soil, but it is important to try to avoid breathing in large amounts of dust if they’re in these areas.
